Lure Colors: The Truth!
Those who make wooden lures, read my articles, have bought my books or have browsed this site before will know that I'm not a great believer in lure color. In fact, color is the last thing I look at when I make wooden lures for my own use.
Is lure color unimportant? No!
I won't argue whether there are times that lure color selection is an important factor determining your success or failure. It can be. Sometimes.
What I'm saying is that most guys put too much faith in lure color and don't think enough about other factors like lure size, shape, action, sound and so on.
And often the colors that guys like best aren't even visible to the fish under the conditions in which they are being used!
To help you sort the wheat from the chaff, I've pulled together a few pages that make the science of lure color selection simple and easy to understand. This information will save you a lot of mistakes (and money). They'll also give you a good laugh the next time some legend tells you why he always catches more fish on red lures!
Please read these pages in sequence. You may find it difficult to understand some pages if you haven't read the previous page first!
